A Guide To Face Lift Prices

It is everyone's desire to become beautiful and maintain a youthful appearance. As with everything we want to achieve, achieving this goal also has a cost. One of the issues that prospective patients are most curious about is the range of facelift surgery prices. Prices are in a wide range, there are many different options. It is very difficult to evaluate which service is worth which value in a service sector that you are unfamiliar with.

This article was written as a guide to give you general information about facelift surgery prices. We hope it will be useful.

What do facelift prices vary depending on?

  1. Facelift prices vary according to the technique of facelift surgery. Mini facelift surgeries and standard superficial surgeries are cheaper. More comprehensive facelift techniques including the neck area, eyelid, fat injection, forehead aesthetics are more expensive. Endoscopic facelift surgery requiring technological infrastructure, deep plan facelift surgeries requiring microsurgical precision are more expensive. As the duration of the surgery increases, the price of the surgery increases.

  2. Facelift prices vary according to the health institution where the surgery is performed. You can find the cheapest prices in state hospitals. Prices are slightly higher in university hospitals. In private practices, private medical centres and private hospitals, prices increase as the quality standards of the hospital increase.

  3. Facelift surgery prices vary according to the doctor's career and experience. An assistant physician who is continuing his/her plastic surgery education or a physician who has just received his/her plastic surgery speciality can serve you with more affordable prices. As the physician's experience, number of facelift cases, title, international recognition in the field of facial rejuvenation, contributions to the scientific literature of facial aesthetics and the facelift methods developed by the physician increase, surgery fees will increase.

  4. Patient-related factors affect the price of surgery. More difficult cases, more complicated cases, revision surgeries with previous surgery, more difficult individuals in terms of character and personality, patients who are professionally visible and pose a risk to the surgeon's reputation may be priced in a higher range. The degree of facial ageing of the patient may also increase the scope and price of the facial rejuvenation plan. Surgeries with advanced sagging, laxity and wrinkles may be more extensive and expensive.

  5. The type of anaesthesia affects the price of surgery. Procedures performed under local anaesthesia in an office or outpatient clinic may be cheaper. Classical general anaesthesia or deep sedation anaesthesia will be slightly more expensive.

What do facelift prices include? Are anaesthesia and hospital costs included?

Facelift prices are usually given as a package both in public hospitals and in the private sector. The price usually includes anaesthesia, hospital, pre-facelift surgery examinations and post-facelift control examinations. It is important to clarify these issues with your doctor before the surgery. Each surgery package has a certain content. Do not think like ultra all-inclusive in hotels. For example, if the package price of the surgery includes 1 night hospitalisation, you may have to pay for the second night. Packages often include routine preoperative examinations and consultations. Preparatory examinations and consultations outside the routine may be charged additionally. For example, when a candidate with heart disease will prepare for facelift surgery; additional examinations such as cardiology consultation, echocardiography, angiography are not included in any surgery package. Similarly, postoperative routine care and medications are included in the packages. Postoperative complications that are not directly related to the surgery may bring you additional costs. For example, you had a facelift surgery and had haemorrhoid bleeding the night after. In this case, the additional treatment will be charged separately.

How is the quality of the materials used in facelift operation determined?

As the quality of every good and service increases, its price also increases. A lot of materials and medicines will be used in facelift surgery. These also have their own quality. For example, original drugs are more expensive than equivalent drugs. The sutures of the company that invented and developed a suture material for the first time in the world will be higher than alternative domestic producers. The quality of surgical instruments and endoscopic systems varies according to the investment opportunities of the hospital.

Unfortunately, the public health system does not work in such a way as to provide the best possible material for each individual. Public interest and price benefit balance are taken into consideration. The cheapest of the materials that do the same job are procured through tender. Most of the time, those materials do the same job and public resources are not wasted. Private hospitals may be more selective about material quality, but this choice will be reflected in prices. The effect of material quality on the aesthetic result of facelift surgery and patient safety is very minimal. I cannot be unfair to public institutions because I work privately. The main difference between public and private is patient comfort. The difference in comfort can be as obvious as between a public guesthouse and a 5-star hotel.

Are there any discounts or package options on face lift prices?

We have mentioned various package options in facelift surgeries. You should learn the content of the packages in advance. Packages in public hospitals are more inclusive, but they do not change according to the patient's wishes. Packages in private health institutions can be tailored individually. For example, you can create a package with 3 nights of hospitalisation instead of 1 night. Insured packages can be created that also cover post-operative complications and possible revisions.

In the private sector, prices are negotiable. Discounts may be available. Doctors often give discounts to their colleagues. This shows that there is room for a discount in face lift prices. As a physician, if I sympathise with the patient in front of me, if I feel that the person is a person who can be my neighbour, my friend, I would like him to be my patient. In this case, I can make a discount. When patients whom I have operated on before and who are now like my friends come for other procedures, I usually give them a discount.

It is not shameful to ask for a discount or negotiate prices. The physician may not want to discount the price in a very busy period, but may offer more favourable prices in the months when the surgeries are slightly less. Just like hotel prices increase during summer holidays and holidays and decrease at other times. Sometimes it is better to get a discounted price from a very good doctor and wait a little than to turn to cheaper options.

What are the payment options for face lift procedure?

Surgery fees can be paid by cash, credit card, bank transfer. As far as I know, there are no payment methods such as instalment option, promissory note, cheque for facelift surgery. Patients who intend to use credit to finance the surgery fees can arrange instalment options with the relevant bank. Sometimes payments made by credit card can also be made by the bank in instalments with a certain interest rate. You can organise this by contacting your own bank.

What is the range of face lift prices in Turkey?

There is inflation in our country. The price of everything is constantly changing. While the price ranges are already quite wide in all services, the price / value uncertainty created by inflation makes it very difficult for people to receive services. The face lift prices that are valid while I am writing this article will probably have already changed while you are reading it. As in gold, dollar, euro, petrol, milk and egg prices...

For this reason, while explaining the facelift price range, I will use benchmarks that do not change according to inflation or are updated according to inflation.

Facelift prices in state hospitals

Facelift prices in public hospitals can usually be made at a price between 1.5-2 times the current minimum wage. Additional procedures included in the surgery or special materials used may increase the cost of surgery. In state hospitals, you make all payments to the cashiers of the hospitals. You do not exchange money with intermediaries or physicians themselves. Since the doctor's fees are very low, the surgery prices are also very low. A doctor in a public hospital does not even earn as much as a doctor in private clinics earns from a facelift surgery when a doctor injects botox or removes a cyst from the scalp. In public hospitals, facelift surgeries are at the bottom of the list of priorities. When receiving services in the state, you should not demand a more privileged service or special attention than other citizens.

Facelift prices in private medical centres and polyclinics

In small private medical centres, you can have facelift surgery at a price between state hospitals and private hospitals. I do not recommend very advanced or very comprehensive facial rejuvenation surgeries in such clinics. Minor procedures of 2-3 hours, classical and simple facelift surgeries can be performed easily and safely in small medical centres. Prices will vary between 3-5 times the current minimum wage depending on the service standards of the clinic and the level of comfort it provides to patients.

Face lift prices in private hospitals

Private hospitals differ among themselves in terms of service standards. Some private hospitals adopt a more intensive working order in agreement with SGK. Since these hospitals earn from the release, prices are more competitive. You can have facelift surgery in crowded private hospitals with SGK (state insurance) agreement at a price between 5-7 times the minimum wage.

Surgery prices are higher in premium private hospitals. Physicians who prefer to work in these hospitals will usually be among the leading names in their fields. If you want to be operated by the most experienced physicians in a private hospital with the highest service standards, you may have to sacrifice a year's tuition fee of private universities and leading private schools in Turkey or a week's holiday for a family of 4 in Turkey's most luxurious hotels.

What is the range of face lift prices in the world?

Especially in developed countries and stable economies, surgery prices follow a more stable course. Face lift prices in these countries are 2-3 times higher on average than in our country, just like the minimum wage.

We can talk about an average fee between 7,000-15,000 USD for facelift surgery in the United States. If we examine the best facelift doctors in America, we can see that the surgery fees increase to the range of 30,000-60,000 USD.

Facelift surgery prices in the European Union vary greatly depending on the country, health system, hospitals and doctors, but average prices vary between 8,000-12,000 Euros. The prices of the best facelift doctors of metropolises such as London, Paris, Rome, Zurich are in the range of 30,000-50,000 Euros.

Turkey has become a global centre of attraction in terms of the quality of health care and affordability of prices. It is a very attractive option for middle-income people living in these countries to take a plane and spend a week in our beautiful country to get the same service 3 times cheaper.

It would be inaccurate to learn facelift prices from patient comments or forums on the internet. You can get exact information about face lift prices after consulting your doctor.
